Virtual reality therapy
Virtual reality therapy
Apply for virtual reality (VR) therapy if your child has problems with:
- muscle tension;
- eye-hand coordination;
- orientation in the scheme of their own body;
- concentration of attention on a given task;
- visual analysis and synthesis;
- motivation to undertake new activities;
- manipulative abilities of the hands
- maintaining balance.
Virtual reality (VR) is the term for computer simulation systems and dedicated hardware that allow you to create a three-dimensional environment and provide intense user interaction with the environment, objects and people. It makes it possible to experience new situations and stimuli, as well as to practically learn and acquire skills in a virtual, danger-free world.
The use of virtual reality opens up new possibilities for conducting various forms of motor rehabilitation and sensory stimulation. Patients can participate in attractive activities in the virtual world and, on occasion, reproduce the desired activities according to optimal movement patterns. The skills acquired or perfected in this way make it possible to achieve noticeable improvements in everyday activities.
At our facility, we conduct therapy based on the only VirtualisVR system in Poland, designed specifically for the purpose of conducting rehabilitation. It includes VR goggles (used in immersive mode), a short-focus projector (used in non-immersive mode), motion and body position controllers for the patient, dedicated software and a dynamic simulator for posturography and rehabilitation - MotionVR. This simulator allows precise analysis and quantitative evaluation of the patient's balance and posture, making it easier for the therapist to carry out an objective assessment of progress in a given therapeutic process. At the same time, the system provides great flexibility by selecting the appropriate type of training and intensity of stimuli depending on the patient's current needs and capabilities.
A particularly important advantage of VR therapy for children and adolescents is the availability of attractive and varied activity scenarios, in many cases impossible to carry out in the real world due to patient safety, such as simulators for airplane flight, skiing or archery. Activities in the virtual world make it possible to take advantage of the patient's full involvement in therapeutic tasks and quickly achieve noticeable progress in therapy.
For your child:
- we will appropriately select activities in virtual reality;
- we will conduct a quantitative analysis of posture and selected elements of motor skills;
- we will provide motor rehabilitation in the form of great fun;
- we will create opportunities for receiving new stimuli and enriching experiences.
